All gardeners should grow sustainably, in tune with a wilder and more ecological gardening ethos. In my own gardens I have always aimed to illustrate sustainable and resilient growing with carefully chosen plant varieties, creation and management of different areas of wild grass, and joy as a certain beautiful randomness enters.

For two decades I provided glorious organically grown flowers for celebrations large and small. I now concentrate on helping others to develop and celebrate their own sustainable gardens. The current vogue for “wilding” is critically important and I draw on my long experience of sustainable and wilder growing to help gardeners and designers to succeed in creating gardens with nature, biodiverse and beautiful spaces that will work for people and planet.

A healthy sustainable and beautiful garden, planted with thought, should need minimal attention and will bring huge benefits to garden, gardener and environment
